Superheroes need a team! Today our hero friends need YOUR counting powers to save the day. Can you count how many heroes are ready for action?

Counting Our Hero Team
Look at this hero team: 1 hero with a cape, 2 heroes with shields, 3 heroes with rocket boots! When we count, we say one number for each hero -- we never skip a hero, and we never count the same hero twice. Point to each hero and say the number out loud: 1, 2, 3!
One More Hero Joins the Team
If 4 heroes are standing on the rooftop and 1 more hero flies in to help, how many heroes are there now? We count up: 4, then 1 more makes 5! Counting 'one more' is how heroes always know when a new friend joins the squad.
When you count a group of heroes, touch each one with your finger as you say its number. This helps you count every hero just once!
Lining Up From Smallest to Biggest
Our heroes like to line up before a mission, from the smallest number of stars on their badge to the biggest. If hero badges show 2, 5, 1, and 4 stars, we line them up: 1, 2, 4, 5. Now the hero line is ready to march!
Build Your Own Hero Squad
Draw 7 simple hero shapes (circles with a cape triangle work great) on a piece of paper. Write the number 7 next to your drawing. Then draw a second, smaller squad of 4 heroes and write the number 4. Circle which squad has more heroes, and count out loud from 1 up to 7 pointing to each hero.
