Good Show and Tell writing starts with ONE object, not a whole toy box. Look around your room or your backpack. Pick just one item — maybe a seashell, a favorite book, or a superhero action figure. Hold it in your hands while you think about it. That's your subject.

Instead of writing 'I have a ball,' a strong writer uses their senses. What color is it? Is it smooth or bumpy? Does it smell like anything? Does it make a sound when you squeeze it or bounce it? For example: 'My ball is bright orange with black dots, and it feels bumpy like tiny mountains under my fingers. When I bounce it on the kitchen floor, it makes a loud POP!' That sentence uses sight, touch, AND sound.

The most important sentence in Show and Tell writing isn't about what the object looks like — it's about why YOU care about it. Maybe your grandma gave it to you. Maybe you found it on the best beach day ever. Maybe it helps you fall asleep. That one sentence turns a plain description into a real story.
