Superposition Explained
Flip a coin and while it is spinning in the air, it is not really heads or tails yet, it is kind of both at once until it lands. Scientists use a similar idea, called superposition, to describe the tiniest building blocks of computers used in quantum computing.

Regular Computers Use Bits
Every computer you have used, like a laptop or a game console, stores information as bits. A bit can only be a 0 or a 1, like a light switch that is either off or on. There is no in-between.
Quantum Computers Use Qubits
A quantum computer uses qubits instead of bits. A qubit can be 0, 1, or, thanks to superposition, a mix of both 0 and 1 at the same time, sort of like our spinning coin. Scientists write this as existing in multiple states until it is measured.
The moment you measure a qubit, its superposition collapses and it locks into a plain 0 or 1, just like the coin lands on heads or tails the moment it hits the table.
Why This Could Be Powerful
Because one qubit can represent a mix of 0 and 1 at once, a group of qubits can explore many possible answers to a problem at the same time, instead of checking them one by one like a regular computer. Companies like IBM and Google have built experimental quantum computers with over 100 qubits to test this power on real problems, like designing new medicines faster.

Coin Superposition Demo
Spin a coin on a table and, while it is still spinning, say out loud that it represents both heads and tails at once. Catch it or let it fall, then announce which single state it collapsed into. Repeat 5 times and record your results in a simple table with columns 'Spin' and 'Result'.
