Learn to Count in Technology

Technology = counting at lightning speed. A computer chip does billions of simple counting operations per second. Your phone displays about 2 million pixels, each a tiny colored dot. The internet moves terabytes of data (trillions of bytes) every second worldwide. All of it is counting.

The Core Idea

Technology speeds up counting. A human counts about 1 thing per second. A computer counts a billion per second. But the process is the same: 1, 2, 3, 4, add, compare, store. Every app, video, and game is just billions of these tiny counts, organized carefully.

Tech Scale

A modern CPU: 3 GHz = 3 billion cycles per second. Your phone has maybe 4 GB RAM = 4 billion bytes. YouTube: 500 hours of video uploaded every minute. Google: handles 100,000 searches per second. Technology counts things we humans couldnt dream of counting.

How fast does a modern CPU cycle?

Going Deeper

The speed of modern technology is almost unimaginable. A chip does more counting in a second than a human could do in a lifetime. When you watch a movie on your phone, billions of calculations happen to decode each frame. But its ALL counting and simple math, just done at incredible speed.
