Create-With-Words Workshop
You have learned a lot in this module. You know how to describe pictures, stories, and games. You know that an AI helper is a tool you guide. You know how to iterate and what to do when the result misses your idea. Now it is time to put it all together in a workshop. Think of this lesson as your creative practice gym — a place to stretch your description muscles and see how strong they have grown.
Workshop Round 1: Picture Prompts
In this round, you will practice writing picture descriptions. Remember the four questions: Who or what? What does it look like? Where? What is happening? Here are two picture ideas. For each one, imagine the scene in your mind and then write a description that answers all four questions. Idea A: A robot at a birthday party. Idea B: An underwater library where fish swim between the bookshelves. Take your time. The richer your description, the closer an AI would get to your real vision.
Prompt Challenge
Write a picture description prompt for the underwater library scene.
Your prompt should…
- Describe what the library looks like — shelves, lighting, decorations
- Name at least two kinds of fish and describe what they are doing
- Set the mood — is it peaceful, mysterious, colorful, or something else?
Workshop Round 2: Story Starters
In this round, practice writing a story description using the recipe: Character plus Setting plus Problem. Here are two characters looking for a story. Pick one and write a full story description for it. Character A: A ten-year-old inventor named Leo who has never had his invention work. Character B: A shy cloud who desperately wants to make a rainbow but keeps making fog instead. Remember to give your character a setting (where and when) and a problem (something to solve or overcome). Add a feeling word too — should the story be heartwarming, funny, or suspenseful?
Fill in the blank with the word that completes the story recipe.
Workshop Round 3: Game Design
In this final round, design a mini game using the four parts: Goal, Players, Rules, Theme. Here is your challenge: design a game that could be played with just a deck of cards and two players. It does not have to use real card rules — make up your own. Write out all four parts, then turn them into a two-to-three sentence game description as if you were telling an AI helper what to write about.
Every description you wrote in this workshop is a real creative act. You turned ideas from your imagination into words. That is exactly what creators, inventors, and artists do every day.
Which of these picture descriptions would give an AI helper the most to work with?
In the story recipe, what does 'problem' refer to?
Full Creation Challenge
- Choose one thing to describe: a picture, a story, or a game.
- Write your best description using everything you have learned in this module. Take your time and use all the tips.
- Read your description aloud as if you are giving instructions to an AI helper standing in front of you.
- Ask someone to listen and then tell you: Is anything unclear? Is anything missing? What do they picture when they hear it?
- Revise your description based on their feedback. You just completed a full iteration!
