Words Can Make Things
Have you ever asked a grown-up to draw you a picture, and the picture came out just right? Words did that! The words you chose helped someone else understand exactly what you wanted. Now imagine doing something like that — but with a computer helper called an AI. In this module, we are going to learn how your words can make pictures, stories, and game ideas come to life.
Words Are Instructions
When you talk to a friend, your words carry ideas. When you talk to an AI helper, your words are instructions. The AI reads your words very carefully and tries to make exactly what you describe. If you say 'draw a red cat,' the AI will try to make a red cat. If you say 'draw a small fluffy orange cat sitting on a blue pillow,' the AI has a lot more to work with. More detail in your words usually means a better result! A description is a group of words that paints a picture in someone's mind. The more helpful your description, the better the AI can help you.
Your words are powerful tools. When you describe something clearly and with detail, you give an AI helper everything it needs to make your idea real.
Think about asking a friend to build something out of blocks. If you just say 'build something,' your friend has to guess. But if you say 'build a tall tower with a red block on top and a blue block at the bottom,' your friend knows just what to do. AI helpers work the same way. They need your words to know what to build.

Every time you write words to an AI helper, those words are called a prompt. A prompt is like a recipe for the AI. A recipe with only one ingredient might make something boring. A recipe with lots of good ingredients makes something delicious! This whole module is about getting really good at writing prompts — so your AI helper can make the things you imagine.
Think of your favorite animal. Now count how many describing words you can think of for it. Color, size, sound, where it lives — every word makes your description richer!

Why does adding more detail to a description help an AI helper?
Word Power Game
- Pick any object in the room — a chair, a cup, a stuffed animal — and do not tell anyone what it is.
- Write five describing words about it on a piece of paper. Think about color, shape, size, texture, and where you would find it.
- Read your five words aloud and ask a family member or friend to guess what the object is.
- If they guess right on the first try, your description was great! If not, add two more details and try again.
- Notice how more words make it easier to guess. That is exactly how prompts work with AI helpers.
